EV StreetCharge

A Simple solution for local authorities to be able to provide on-street charging for residents and visitors.
Using street lights to double up as an electric car charge is a simple solution to EV charging in residential areas.

The key benefit is that lamp post charging is a way to avoid expensive civils works by connecting to an existing supply

The lamp post needs to be sited close to the kerb and not set back on the pavement

Power Supply

Either a 16 amp (3.7kW) or 32 amp (7kW ) charge point are available dependant on the power supply available at the lamppost.
A typical electric car (Nissan LEAF 30kWh) takes 4 hours to charge from empty with a 7kW charging point.
3.7kW charger provides about 15 miles per hour of charge.
7kW charger provides about 30 miles per hour of charge.

Depending on the design of the lamp post supply circuit, it is possible that it could be fed from a TT, TN-S or TN-C-S earthing system. The BS7671 wiring regulations prevent connecting EV charging infrastructure to a single phase PME supply. If this is the case the lamp post would need to have a separate TT earth installed

Using the EV Charge Online payment platform

The EV Street Charge has developed a revolutionary new public-facing EV charge point management system called ‘EV Charge Online’ in response to the growing numbers of EV drivers in the UK who are feeling frustrated by the financial burdens placed on them by many of the current national EV charge point network providers.
‘EV Charge Online’ enables each and every EV driver to simply pull up to a charge point and, using their mobile phone, tablet or in-car connectivity, login to the charge point and pay on the spot for its use.

The EV Street charge has been developed to incorporate.
